A Brief Recap

Seven priorities anchor the work of Empowered Legacy:

  • Mental Health & Well-Being

  • Self-Love

  • Perseverance

  • Human-Centered (People First) Leadership

  • Meaningful Relationships

  • Sustainable Change

  • Legacy

While the previous post focused on Mental Health & Well-Being and Self-Love, this post focuses on Perseverance and Human-Centered (People First) Leadership

Perseverance

Perseverance is one of the most valuable internal motivators for individuals and organizations. It includes courage and commitment to growth, even through challenge and uncertainty, which shapes every desired outcome.

This belief does not suggest that individuals or organizations forge ahead regardless of the cost to themselves or others.  Instead, perseverance often requires the wisdom to pause, reflect, reset, strategize, and pivot, when necessary, while keeping the desired outcome at the forefront.

This distinction is essential because perseverance without regard for people, including oneself, may become harmful, even when the desired outcome is meaningful.

Human-Centered (People First) Leadership

Numerous leadership theories exist, each offering its own value.  The one that anchors Empowered Legacy centers on prioritizing people through connection, empathy, and nurturing environments where people are valued, seen, and heard.

Everyone has a role to fulfill in their workplaces, communities, and homes.  Human-Centered Leadership does not mean people are praised for meeting basic expectations every day. Instead, it means leaders intentionally create and maintain environments where people have the support, clarity, and care to fulfill their responsibilities well.

These two core beliefs remind us that meaningful outcomes matter, but the way we pursue them is just as important.

This reflection will continue in the next blog post, where I will highlight the next two core beliefs: Meaningful Relationships and Sustainable Change
